Behind the Scenes with Dr. David
We have introduced you to the various offerings we have here at Physical Evidence Chiropractic, everything from chiropractic care to weight-loss treatments and beyond. Now the time has come for us to introduce you to the man who is responsible for all of the magic that happens at our Boca Raton chiropractic office.
Meet Dr. David Lipman, a Chiropractic Physician and exercise specialist located in Boca Raton Florida with over 30 years of experience in musculoskeletal and exercise rehabilitation.
Interestingly enough, Dr. Lipman tells us, “I actually didn’t set out to be a chiropractor. I had never even heard of the profession until I was 19 years old, when the downline effect from a broken neck that occurred when I was 15, began to create significant pain and dysfunction. I met a chiropractic student while working a summer job in a fitness center and he talked me into coming to see him in the clinic where I received my first adjustment. The power of that adjustment had far reaching consequences, as it completely changed my direction. I began to pursue Chiropractic as a career at that point.”
Let’s get to know more about him.
Tell us about your educational background.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and Physical Education from Boston University. I then went to New York Chiropractic College to get my Doctorate as a Chiropractic Physician. Post-graduate studies included many hours of additional course work in neurological studies, extremity adjusting, myofascial release techniques, rehabilitative work and new cutting-edge technologies that involve different tools and techniques, which I still explore in an effort to see how I can enhance care and improve patient outcomes.
What do you enjoy most about your career?
The best thing about my work is that I can help improve the quality of someone’s life, many times dramatically, with something that seems to be very simple and easy for me. It’s the greatest professional satisfaction I get.
Describe your “work-style” and philosophy when it comes to taking care of the body.
My work-style is really just a reflection of my lifestyle. I have been exercising and eating clean since I was 10 years old. An older boy that lived next store to me got me off of Captain Crunch and Wonder Bread and got me to start each day with exercise. He was strong, fast and it made a huge impression on me. My parents thought I was crazy asking for big salads and some protein in them instead of what I usually ate. My mother would say, ‘What’s wrong with Wonder Bread?’ — she still sometimes asks that question.
Anyway, having had a dislocated shoulder at 5-years-old and then the broken neck at 15, I found that my lifestyle of eating clean and exercise was the best defense against my injuries. I also had ruptured a disc in my lower back 10 years ago, but I’ve never had surgery for any of those things mentioned, and I remain pain-free, functional and strong at almost 60-years-old.
Basically, I take my lifestyle of clean eating, proper daily exercise, and regular chiropractic care, and make that my work-style. I introduce all of my patients to what has helped me get through injuries and remain pain-free, strong and functional.
In addition, I have a very relaxed office environment. All my patients have my cell phone number and know they can text me any day or time. They are all encouraged to call me by my first name instead of by my title, and it really makes it feel like more of a community around the office. I do believe that it also enhances people’s recovery as they know they have a doctor who can relate to their pain, and a place they can go for resolution from a person and staff who genuinely cares about them.
How did you come to hear about Cryoskin?
I first heard of Cryoskin in an email solicitation from a marketing company. I had already incorporated Whole Body Cryotherapy into my practice for two years, so when I received this, I inquired immediately. As it turned out, later that very day I was visiting with a medical doctor, who is a friend and colleague. He had a new marketing team member working with him, who I was able to meet. I mentioned the Cryoskin solicitation I had received and she just so happened to be the local representative for that company. She came in the very next day with a full presentation and I basically signed up on the spot. Having seen great things with Whole Body Cryotherapy both personally and professionally, I knew that the technology was sound and have since seen continued great results with all of the Cryoskin functions.
Describe your first experience having a Cryoskin treatment.
My first experience with a Cryoskin treatment was at my first Cryoskin training session. There was another first-timer at the training, who did a Slimming treatment on me. I actually lost a full two inches in that first session! I even saw that my belt loop was a whole notch tighter, from just that one 3- minute treatment!
First it was Whole Body Cryotherapy, then it was Cryoskin. What’s next for Physical Evidence Chiropractic?
That’s a great question. As I had mentioned earlier, I am always on the lookout for new advancements in technology, especially those that tap into the body’s own healing capabilities and are great for preventive health and wellness. I recently spoke to a gentleman who had sold me my first deep tissue laser therapy device about seven years ago, which I upgraded to the next higher power about 4-years-ago. He told me that he was involved in bringing a new technology from Germany which was basically a full laser bed that provides the whole-body experience with all the same benefits. Having had some experience with Red Light Therapy, I knew that an actual laser bed will have incredible healing results for a host of symptoms and conditions that people face today.
I am very excited about adding this treatment at our office, as it will be just another service for people to use to enhance their health and prevent disease on many levels.
Stay tuned to hear more details about this new, non-invasive treatment to be offered soon!
